Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a construction estimator/engineer to support semi-complex projects across the United States. The role focuses on cost estimation, scheduling, and coordination with project teams to ensure successful execution from bid to closeout.

You will work with field personnel and subcontractors, contributing to price development, procurement, and documentation while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Good ability to identify moderately complex problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Excellent computation skills and strong verbal/written communication.
• Proven ability to manage time and organize multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or assist in estimating tasks including quantity take‑offs and cost research for OPCCs and design-build projects.
• Utilize Timberline to prepare OPCCs and related cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project teams to develop baselines, schedules, and work breakdown structures.
• Support field teams with QA/QC, submittals, RFIs, and change management.
• Assist in procurement, change orders, and payment applications.
• Lead small project pieces and provide guidance to junior staff.
