Job summary

AKVM Construction Group is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to manage daily accounting and administrative operations for a growing construction company in Bradenton, FL. This hands-on role works with executive management, a fractional CFO service, and an outside accounting firm.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience, QuickBooks proficiency, GAAP knowledge, and strong organizational and communication skills; bilingual is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.
• QuickBooks experience is required.
• Construction accounting and job-costing experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Professional communication and phone etiquette; confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, vendor payments, collections, and customer account reconciliation.
• Maintain daily bank and credit-card transactions, deposits, transfers, and monthly account reconciliations.
• Coordinate payroll processing and maintain related accounting entries and documentation.
• Maintain the general ledger, prepare routine journal entries, and organize supporting financial documentation.
• Maintain construction job-cost reporting, including project revenue, labor, materials, subcontractors, change orders, deposits, retainage, and project profitability.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and prepare P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, AP/AR aging, and budget-to-actual reports.
• Work with the fractional CFO and accounting firm to improve accounting procedures, internal controls, reporting, and year-end/tax preparation.
• Handle front-desk responsibilities and assist with general office administration and filing.
