Job summary

Bentley Commons in Hackettstown, NJ is seeking a friendly front desk receptionist to welcome residents, families, visitors, vendors, and team members. You will assist with check-ins, answer calls, provide information, and coordinate mail and basic data entry.

Maintain confidentiality and a professional reception area in a resident-focused environment. The role emphasizes organizational skills, reliability, and teamwork, with opportunities to support a welcoming community for older adults.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in customer service, receptionist, concierge, or healthcare is preferred.
  • Friendly, calm, and professional demeanor.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and interruptions.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Comfortable answering phones and assisting visitors.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome residents, families, visitors, vendors, and team members.
  • Assist with visitor check-in procedures.
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls.
  • Provide general information about the community and its services.
  • Notify team members when visitors or appointments arrive.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Assist with basic data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Use Microsoft Office and other community software systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized reception area.
  • Monitor the front entrance and follow safety procedures.
  • Respect resident privacy and maintain confidentiality.
  • Complete additional reception and administrative duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do
  • Welcome residents, families, visitors, vendors, and team members

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
  • Monitor the front entrance and follow community safety procedures
  • Respect resident privacy and maintain confidentiality
  • Assist residents and families with routine requests
  • Support emergency communication procedures when directed
  • Complete additional reception and administrative duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous customer service, receptionist, concierge, administrative, hospitality, or healthcare experience is preferred
  • Friendly, calm, and professional demeanor
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, as required to answer telephone calls, assist residents and visitors, communicate with team members, and respond appropriately during emergencies
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and interruptions
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Comfortable answering phones and assisting visitors
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
