Job summary

TikTok is seeking an experienced Compute Platform SRE to join our new team in San Jose. You will ensure reliability and performance for our data warehouse products and query engines, partnering with product and development teams to meet SLAs and drive continuous improvement throughout the software lifecycle.

Responsibilities include incident management, infrastructure automation, capacity planning, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to optimize services and resource usage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of Linux, networking, and databases.
• Experience with SRE/DevOps tools, monitoring, and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Python, Shell, Java, Go).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Reliability of TikTok's major data warehouse products, services, and query engines.
• Uphold SLAs and respond to outages or issues promptly.
• Analyze performance and optimize reliability; collaborate with development teams.
• Lead incident management, postmortems, and cross-functional coordination.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and management.
• Collaborate with product and development teams on reliability in the software lifecycle.
• Forecast capacity and infrastructure needs based on growth.
• Stay updated with industry trends in site reliability.
