Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is seeking a Platform Reliability Engineer to monitor and maintain the availability of TikTok, including video playback, content recommendations, live streaming, and customer feedback systems. You will gain a solid understanding of the components powering the TikTok experience.

You will ensure SLAs/SLOs are met by measuring performance and health, scale systems with automation, and work with a global team to respond to incidents, perform postmortems, and drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or above degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, with 2+ years in deployment/administration of large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux internals, networking, storage, and databases.
• Experience in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Ruby, Rust, JavaScript.
• Experience debugging, optimizing code and automating tasks.
• Experience with systems like Nginx, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Kafka.
• Designing and analyzing large-scale distributed systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain services to meet SLAs and SLOs by measuring availability and performance.
• Support site-up issues as part of a global team to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Scale systems sustainability via automation and efficiency improvements.
