Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems. The role emphasizes automation, monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration across software and infrastructure teams.

You will participate in on-call rotations, conduct performance testing, and help define SLOs/SLIs/SLAs to ensure reliability and scalability of critical services from Seattle to global users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 3+ years of experience.
• Proven work experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar software engineering role.
• Programming experience with Go, Python, or similar languages to automate operational tasks.
• Experience with Linux, network architecture, cloud systems, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation procedures to maximize system efficiency and minimize human intervention.
• Design, deploy and operate components in collaboration with software engineering teams for robustness.
• Ensure system scalability to handle growth in web traffic and data.
• Implement monitoring tools and set up metrics to track system health and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident management; diagnose and resolve production issues.
• Conduct performance tests to identify bottlenecks and optimize systems.
• Define Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and SLAs.
• Practice blameless postmortems and sustainable user support.
