Job summary

Caring Hands Animal Hospital Rockville is seeking a skilled Veterinary Receptionist to be the friendly first contact for clients and their pets, balancing administrative precision with warmth in a clinical setting.

The role requires at least 1 year of front desk experience, proficiency with practice management software (Cornerstone, Avimark, ImproMed, eVetPractice or ezyVet preferred), and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle emotionally sensitive situations with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify and update medical records, and confirm appointment details.
• Answer multi-line phone system and handle appointment scheduling, refills, and inquiries.
• Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, and schedule follow-ups.
• Communicate diagnoses and care instructions compassionately during sensitive discussions such as euthanasia scheduling.
• Maintain accurate EMR and data entry in PIMS, coordinating with the veterinary team to manage patient flow.
• Keep reception area clean and welcoming.
