5280 Veterinary Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate veterinary receptionist to serve as the primary contact for clients and their pets. The role balances administrative precision with warmth across a range of interactions, including emotionally sensitive cases.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in a veterinary reception role, be proficient with Avimark, and able to manage high-volume front desk operations with professionalism and empathy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist is required.
• Proficiency with veterinary practice management software (Avimark) is required.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, vaccination protocols, and basic diagnostics is preferred.
• Ability to manage high-volume front desk operations with composure.
• Skilled in appointment scheduling, multi-line phone handling, and payment processing.
• Strong customer service skills and effective communication in sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify medical records, and confirm appointments using practice software.
• Answer and manage a multi-line phone system and respond to scheduling, refills, and information inquiries.
• Process payments, post charges, and schedule follow-ups at checkout.
• Communicate medical information compassionately, including end-of-life discussions when needed.
• Maintain accurate EMR and data entry in PIMS.
• Coordinate with team to relay messages and ensure efficient patient flow.
• Maintain reception area and waiting room in orderly, welcoming condition.
