Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Minnesota is hiring Veterinary Receptionists to welcome clients, triage needs, and support our medical team. The role requires calm, compassionate interaction with clients and effective communication by phone and in person.

As the first point of contact, you will determine if arrivals are stat or standard emergencies, confirm appointments, provide guidance for pet prep, and assist grieving clients with resources.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients in person and on the phone.
• Ability to remain calm in emotional situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients with friendly eye contact and a warm, professional acknowledgment.
• Offer a friendly smile with strong eye contact and an approachable demeanor.
• Be a compassionate listener and communicate clearly for clients.
• Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the phone.
• Assess each client and pet's needs on arrival and identify emergencies as 'stat' or 'standard'.
• Route non-patient calls or visitors to the appropriate team member.
• Confirm appointments in advance and inform clients how to prepare their pet.
• Offer emotional support and resources to grieving clients discreetly.
• Serve as liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains.
