Job summary

Petco is seeking a Hospital Concierge for our Vetco Total Care hospital in a high-volume setting. You will be the first and last point of contact for clients, ensuring a welcoming experience and smooth operations.

Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling, greeting clients, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting staff during busy periods, with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be compassionate and sympathetic.
• Must have exceptional telephone and computer skills.
• Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments.
• Preferred: Previous experience using a Practice Management System.

Responsibilities

• Answer the practice phone and route calls appropriately.
• Maintain hospital appointment calendar including scheduling and online bookings.
• Greet visitors and patients by name; notify staff as they arrive; monitor wait times.
• Participate in training of new staff and disseminate knowledge.
• Ensure waiting area is clean and stocked; use disinfectants if contagious disease present.
• Confirm appointments by client’s preferred method (phone, email, text) the day before and adjust as needed.
• Provide backup support to technical staff when rooms need to be loaded or patients discharged.
