Job summary

Cedarhurst Living is actively seeking a caring Resident Assistant to support residents’ dignity, independence, and quality of life by providing personal care, companionship, and encouragement in daily activities within a welcoming senior living community.

You will work closely with the care team and Director of Nursing to monitor health, implement care plans, and promote wellbeing, safety, and respectful interactions with residents and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience as a resident assistant within a senior living community or healthcare setting is preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and HR-related systems as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care needs including grooming, hygiene, dressing, nutrition.
• Answer signal lights, bells, or intercom to determine residents' needs.
• Take and record vital signs as directed.
• Transport residents or assist with walking and repositioning as needed.
• Change bed linens, run errands, direct visitors, and answer telephone.
• Assist with laundry and housekeeping duties.
• Assist residents to and from dining and assist with meals.
• Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities.
• Communicate observations to the care team promptly.
