Job summary

Cedarhurst Living in Illinois seeks a dedicated Resident Assistant to support residents' dignity and independence through personal care, companionship, and daily activity encouragement.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will coordinate with the care team to monitor health, follow care plans, and maintain a safe, welcoming living environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience as a resident assistant within a senior living community or healthcare setting is preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital tools is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care needs including grooming, hygiene, dressing, nutrition, and mobility.
• Respond to signal lights, bells, or intercom to determine residents' needs proactively.
• Record vital signs and intake/output as directed by the care team.
• Assist with transfer, turning, and positioning; help residents in and out of beds and chairs.
• assist with dining, laundry, and light housekeeping as needed.
• Encourage participation in activities and community engagement.
• Communicate observations and concerns to the care team and families as appropriate.
• Follow resident care plans and respect advance directives; maintain a safe, clean living environment.
• Collaborate with staff and management; participate in team activities and training.
