Job summary

Cedarhurst Living is seeking a dedicated Resident Assistant to support residents with personal care, companionship, and daily activities, under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. The role emphasizes dignity, independence, and quality of life, with emphasis on compassionate, proactive engagement and clear communication within the care team.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, health monitoring, and collaboration with families to ensure comfort and well‑being.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience as a resident assistant within a senior living community or healthcare setting is preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and HR-related systems as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care needs including grooming, hygiene, dressing, nutrition.
• Respond to signals and determine residents' needs promptly.
• Take and record vital signs and fluid intake as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers.
• Carry out housekeeping, laundry, dining assistance, and activity participation tasks.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team.
• Support development of care plans and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Follow infection prevention protocols and participate in team activities.
