Avid Health at Home is hiring Personal Care Aides (PCA) and SRNA's to service clients in Breathitt County and surrounding areas. You will provide ADL and supportive care under the care manager's direction.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification: Current certification/registration with the licensing board in the respective state of practice.
• Current PCA certification.
• Be in compliance with all existing regulations and company policies.
• CPR preferred and may be required for some clients.
• Must meet transportation, language, and cultural requirements specific to branch needs.
• PCAs are required to possess a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, ability to read, write and carry out directions and maturity to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
• Other Hours of Work: Varies on a case-by-case basis, variable hour employee.

Responsibilities

• Implements and provides day-to-day ADL and IADL support to clients within their home as ordered by the physician’s plan of treatment and client’s plan of care.
• Assisting or performing personal care including baths, mouth care, grooming, dressing and undressing.
• Assisting with elimination (toilet, commode, urinal, bedpan) and transfers.
• Assisting with ambulation with or without mechanical aids and therapy exercises under the direction of a Registered Therapist.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment and preparing meals according to dietary requirements.
• Light housekeeping, laundry, shopping/errands, and accompanying clients to appointments.
• Providing companionship and stimulation; remind client for self-administration of medication (no administration by PCA).
• Follow HIPAA regulations and agency policies; report changes to supervisor.
