Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) with patients, staff and physicians.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and email.
• Training or experience in keyboarding/data entry with speed and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions; sort and file information accurately.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors; answers telephone; screens calls and takes messages.
• Registers patients; collects demographics and insurance information; verifies coverage; posts payments.
• Schedules appointments; coordinates cancellations and additions; provides test prep and arrival times.
• Updates insurance and financial data; communicates changes to patients.
• Ensures information accuracy per government and payer requirements.
• Monitors patient flow; assists patients with transportation, directions, and wheelchair needs.
• Performs visit closure: check-out, follow-up scheduling, and visit summaries.
• Files/retrieves/delivers patient information and completes required forms.
