Job summary

Intermountain Health in Murray, Utah is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first point of contact for patients, greeting and checking in/out, verifying information, and coordinating with caregivers to ensure a smooth and courteous patient experience.

This PRN role covers varying shifts with no guaranteed hours; the ideal candidate is organized, compassionate and proficient at documenting calls in the EMR and scheduling visits, tests, referrals, and consultations.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills including word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers to deliver high satisfaction.
• Ability to protect PHI and maintain privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging.
• Documents all phone calls accurately and completely in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and/or consultations.
• Registers patients by confirming and updating demographic data on the registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards, IDs, and signatures; may verify COB or pre-certification.
• Assists patients in completing forms for regulatory and billing needs; educates on financial assistance; requests payments.
• Stays current on responsibilities by reviewing communications and attending meetings to ensure high performance.
