Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
• Basic computer skills with word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers to deliver high customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect PHI and privacy of patients, members, and caregivers.
• One year of customer service experience in person and by phone (preferred).
• Billing and collections experience (preferred).
• EMR literacy and other relevant software (preferred).
• High school diploma or GED preferred (preferred).
• Multilingual (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging; resolves patient needs for intake and care.
• Documents all calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Registers patients by confirming and updating demographic data in the registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and IDs; may verify insurance coordination of benefits.
• Assists patients in completing forms for regulatory and billing needs; educates on financial assistance; processes payments.
• Keeps current on role responsibilities and participates in meetings to ensure high performance.
