Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a friendly Patient Service Representative to warmly greet and assist patients, verify information, and document interactions in the EMR. The role includes scheduling visits, registering patients, and guiding financial and insurance processes.

The position is PRN with no guaranteed hours and a pay rate of $18.31–$23.80 hourly, reflecting experience. Utah location: Murray with a flexible, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging; resolves patient needs to ensure a superior experience.
• Documents all phone calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Registers patients over the phone or in person by confirming and updating demographic data in the registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and IDs; may verify insurance information and pre-certifications.
• Assists patients with forms for regulatory and billing needs; educates patients on financial assistance; processes payments.
• Keeps current on duties and attends meetings to ensure high performance.
