Job summary

Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, UT, is seeking a compassionate Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients. Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in/out patients by phone, in person or securely.
• Verify demographic data and enter/update patient information in registration system.
• Obtain insurance cards, IDs, and signatures on required forms.
• Assist patients with completing forms for regulatory and billing needs.
• Schedule appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Assist with collecting payments and processing them per procedures.
• Document phone calls accurately in the EMR and stay current on role responsibilities.
