Qualifications

• Experience or willingness to verify insurance and determine patient eligibility.
• Ability to communicate financial obligations clearly to patients.
• Strong attention to detail in data entry and claims processing.
• Respect for HIPAA and patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and validate insurance coverage and benefits for new patients.
• Perform eligibility checks weekly and annually.
• Communicate patient financial obligations to patients.
• Process patient payments and update balances.
• Act as primary contact to assist with benefits, authorizations and patient financials.
• Assist patients with grant portals and related forms as needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and arrange transportation as required.
• Review reports to correct missing or incorrect system information.
• Ensure submission of clean claims and reduce payer denials.
• Assist with special projects using Excel/Google Sheets.
• Protect PHI per HIPAA standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
