Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks a patient services specialist to manage patient registration, admissions, and insurance verification in a busy hospital setting. You will greet patients, verify coverage, and enter data into the EMR while maintaining patient confidentiality and delivering compassionate service.

You will support the care team, coordinate with billing and financial counselors, and help ensure accurate, timely registration and billing processes across ER and outpatient care areas.

Qualifications

• Graduate of high school or equivalent preferred.
• One to two years customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of third-party payors preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately at admission and verify insurance.
• Assist with patient flow in ER and urgent care.
• Collect payments and co-pays; assist with MSPQ for Medicare.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to patient needs.
• Coordinate with Mercyhealth teams to support care delivery.
