Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care and support to the nursing team. You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, and comfort, while maintaining safety and infection-control practices in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires a current Basic Life Support certification and strong interpersonal skills to communicate with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA or IU Health PCA program.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served.
• Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, and patient comfort.
• Provide bedside assistance to the RN and monitor patient conditions.
• Observe and report changes, ensuring patient safety and clean, orderly surroundings.
• Support with gait belts, alarms, and maintaining proximity to patients when moving.
