Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Progressive Care Unit at St. Charles Hospital in Ohio. The role provides essential patient care under RN guidance, including vital signs, hygiene, and mobility assistance.

The PCT will document care, communicate changes to the nurse, and support patients with dignity and compassion, in a fast-paced hospital environment with strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support is preferred and must be obtained from an approved source prior to direct patient care.
• Completion of a nursing aide training program OR successful passing of state nurse aide exams OR CNA certification OR nursing program with clinical nursing course and rotation; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, and hygiene; assist with mobility.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care activities.
• Deliver high level customer service to patients, families, and staff.
