Job summary

Mercy Health, Toledo Regional - Ancillary Nursing Pool, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nurses and care teams in providing compassionate patient care. The role includes room sanitization, vital sign monitoring, feeding assistance, and daily living activities within a hospital or medical office setting.

The ideal candidate will have nursing aide training or equivalent certification, be able to work under supervision, and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have problem-solving skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to provide high level customer service to patients and families.
• Experience in a rapidly changing healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vitals, personal care and mobility support.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers accurate, timely documentation of patient care when applicable.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information at arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques and encourages independence.
