Bon Secours Mercy Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Progressive Care Unit at St. Charles Hospital. The role supports nursing staff with basic patient care, vital signs, hygiene, and mobility, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates have nursing aide training or STNA/CNA credentials and demonstrated communication and teamwork skills. Epic EHR experience is preferred, and the program offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of a nursing aide training program or STNA or CNA.
• State-tested nurse aide credentials are required if OH LTC.
• Hospitals may require current BLS before direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including vital signs, personal care and hygiene.
• Report changes and/or concerns to the nurse.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients and families.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EHR.
• Participate in hand-offs and unit communications.
• Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility.
• Encourage patients to participate in self-care when able.
