Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in Youngstown, OH to support direct patient care under the supervision of an RN. The role requires basic clinical skills, strong safety awareness, and dependable teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate may be a nursing student, STNA/CNA certified, or an individual with hospital/long-term care aide experience and strong computer skills. Full-time day shifts with built-in patient interaction and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be a PCT with RN student in school and at least 1 clinical semester completed, or
• STNA/CNA certification or completion of HCA training for acute care, or
• Nursing Student who completed first semester of acute care hospital clinical experience or 1 year of relevant clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care underRN guidance.
• Record vital signs and assist with daily activities.
• Observe patient responses and report to RN.
• Assist with specimens collection and basic bedside procedures.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort and ensure proper hygiene.
• Assist with meals and feeding and family communication.
• Operate basic equipment and support routine charting.
• Support orientation and training of new staff.
