Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at St. Rita's Medical Center in Ohio. The role supports nurses by providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring a clean, safe patient environment.

Ideal candidates have nursing aide training and BLS certification (preferred on hire). EPIC EHR training is offered, and candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced clinical setting and compassionate patient

Qualifications

• Nursing aide training completion or equivalent.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred on hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Successful completion of nursing aide training program OR STNA/ CNA/ Nurses Aide state testing OR nursing program with clinical nursing course.
• 1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, mobility, hygiene and vital signs.
• Report changes and concerns to nurse in charge.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients and families.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EHR.
• Participate in hand-offs and report pertinent information.
• Perform delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Mobilize patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourage patient independence and personalize care.
