Job summary

Eye Associates of New Mexico in Santa Fe, NM seeks a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator for our Ambulatory Surgery Center. This full-time role supports patient check-in, chart preparation, billing coordination, and scheduling to ensure smooth surgical experiences.

You will work closely with patients, families, nursing, scheduling, billing and physician teams to deliver compassionate, organized care and accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with high organizational standards.
• Comfortable working with computers and healthcare systems.
• Ability to communicate professionally with patients, coworkers and physicians.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Two years of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check-in patients on day of surgery and greet families.
• Verify demographics and assist with payments/co-pays.
• Coordinate insurance verification and payment information with Billing.
• Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming surgeries.
• Maintain scheduling information and assist with same-day/add-on cases.
• Post payments and assist with daily balancing and deposits.
• Maintain medical records, requests, dictations, pathology docs.
• Answer phones and communicate with patients, physicians and team members.
• Keep information accurate and operations flowing smoothly in the center.
• Provide backup support in other administrative areas as needed.
