Job summary

Affinity Eye Care is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations and support patient flow across the care team. You will anticipate needs, communicate clearly, and proactively manage daily schedules to ensure a high-quality patient experience.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling, confirming appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining EMR data. This role emphasizes collaboration, confidentiality, and patient-centered service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn practice management systems (EMR).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors; act as primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails professionally.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules; manage cancellations and reschedules.
• Perform appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics; enter data into EMR accurately.
• Explain insurance coverage and patient financial responsibilities to patients.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation ahead of visits.
• Process charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; track balances and claims.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor patient flow and adjust schedules to prevent bottlenecks.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical teams for smooth transitions during visits.
• Support recall and reactivation outreach for ongoing care.
