Job summary

Emerus is seeking a PRN Nursing Assistant to support our 29-bed small-format hospital. Under the direction of an RN, you will perform advanced indirect and selected direct patient care and related clerical tasks, aligned with the nursing process and patient age needs.

Daily duties include taking vital signs, glucose checks, EKGs, assisting with meals and mobility, and maintaining clean rooms and equipment. Requires High School Diploma or GED, current BLS, and 2 years in acute care as a CNA or

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification required.
• 2 years of work experience in an acute care hospital as a Nursing Assistant or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to understand written instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations; demonstrates skills for assigned specialty area/function or assigned procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to perform duties with increased responsibilities.
• Ability to perform duties requiring prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting.
• Position requires fluency in English; written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provides care under RN supervision within PCA scope.
• Takes vital signs, performs glucose checks, EKGs, and tracks intake/output; maintains records.
• Assists with meals, mobility, hygiene, and patient transport; keeps rooms and equipment clean; may perform data entry.
