Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Spec Patient Access LOR to handle admitting duties for all patients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and compassionate service in line with Mercy Health mission and regulatory standards. The role covers MRN assignment, medical necessity checks, insurance data collection, and POS support with an overlay tool.

This full-time position features day shifts with some second/third shift and rotating weekends/holidays, offering opportunities for professional growth within our health

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 Year/Associates Degree preferred.
• Combination of post-secondary education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assign MRNs and perform medical necessity/compliance checks.
• Collect insurance information and process physician orders.
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms and distribute patient education documents.
• Review insurance eligibility and support POS/billing processes for clean claims.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software for Medicare patients.
