Mercy Hospital Southeast is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, delivering compassionate service in line with Mercy Service Standards. The role includes scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance, with a focus on accurate data capture and clear communication about financial responsibilities.

2-3 years of clerical experience preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical experience and customer service preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under stress and maintain accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Facilitate patient entrance into Mercy facilities, including scheduling and registration.
• Perform benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance tasks.
• Collect patient financial responsibility and document outcomes.
• Explain payment options and resources to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate patient data in the record and communicate with care teams.
