Qualifications

• Successful completion of a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
• Must obtain one of the listed certifications for Medical Assistants within one year of hire (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NPCE MA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completion within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient in Windows, web-based navigation, email, and MS Office.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Maintains professional behavior reflecting Trinity Health's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation.
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under provider direction.
• Prepare and organize patient charts and ensure documentation completion.
• Schedule procedures, labs, x-rays, and surgeries; provide pre- and post-surgery information.
• Coordinate physician schedules and insurance pre-certifications.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to standards and guidelines.
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs and discharge plans.
• Support training and onboarding of new colleagues; cross-coverage as needed.
