Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to deliver direct patient care, prepare charts, and assist with procedures in a full-time, day-shift role in Des Moines, IA. The candidate will support providers, manage tests and immunizations, and coordinate care with the care team.

The position requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, ability to obtain national certification within a year, BLS within 3 months, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHP or ABHES.
• Must obtain CMA, RMA, NCMA, CMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or NPCE MA certification within one year of hire.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and able to navigate Windows and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through preparation, vital signs, and documentation.
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under supervision.
• Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation; communicate test results and care plans.
• Schedule procedures, labs, X-rays, and surgeries; manage follow-ups and referrals.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to policies and standards.
• Educate patients and families and promote evidence-based nursing practices.
