Job summary

Trinity Health in Iowa is seeking a Part-time Medical Assistant to support patient care in a clinic setting. You will perform routine MA duties, assist with exams, document in the EMR, and help maintain a clean, patient-centered environment.

Requirements include completion of an accredited medical assistant program, CMA/RMA certification within the first year, basic life support, and preferred clinic/physician office experience. Training on facility procedures will be provided.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES.
• CMA or RMA certification must be obtained within first year of employment.
• Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within three months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes urgent/emergent needs of patients and initiates appropriate emergency procedures.
• Follows clinic procedures for EMR documentation and management of test results.
• Assists with procedures, exams and operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned.
• Maintains aseptic technique and documents patient interactions accurately in EMR.
• Communicates with patients and health care team to support treatment plans and education.
