Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• Must obtain one of the listed MA certifications within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient computer skills and a willingness to work in a team.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through preparation, vital signs, and documentation.
• Assist with procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment, maintaining aseptic technique.
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under provider direction.
• Prepare and organize patient charts; manage test results and care plans.
• Schedule procedures, labs, imaging, and surgeries; support outreach for overdue visits.
• Coordinate physician schedules and insurance pre-certifications; manage follow-ups.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Trinity Health policies and standards.
• Educate patients and families; promote evidence-based nursing resources.
• Assist training and cross-coverage; document care plans in the medical record.
• Ensure safety checklists and quality controls are completed; escalate issues as needed.
