Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Part-time Medical Assistant in Johnston, IA to support patient care through preparation, vital signs, and documentation. You will assist with procedures and imaging, administer medications under supervision, and help coordinate tests and follow-ups.

The role requires completing an accredited MA program and obtaining CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or NPCE MA certification within the first year of hire, plus BLS within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHP/ABHES).
• Must obtain CMA, RMA, NCMA, CMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or NPCE MA certification within 1 year of hire.
• Basic computer skills including Windows, email, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through preparation, vital signs, and documentation.
• Assist with procedures, exams, and imaging equipment.
• Administer medications and immunizations under supervision.
• Prepare and organize patient charts and ensure documentation is complete.
• Schedule tests, labs, imaging, and procedures; provide pre/post-surgery information.
• Coordinate appointments and ensure insurance pre-certifications when needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to Trinity Health policies.
