Job summary

Mercy Health in Cincinnati is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med Surg Unit at Anderson Hospital. As part of the care team, you will support patients with basic care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, assist with feeding, grooming and hygiene, and help monitor vital signs.

You should have completed a nursing aide program or STNA/CNA certification and hold or be willing to obtain BLS. EPIC EHR training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing aide training or equivalent certification required (STNA/CNA).
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred before direct patient care.
• Recent acute care or similar experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, hygiene, and mobility.
• Liaises with nurses to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourages patient independence and personalizes care.
