Mercy Health – Anderson Hospital is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our compassionate team. You will provide basic patient care under RN supervision, maintain cleanliness, monitor vital signs, and assist with daily activities to support patient well‑being.

The role emphasizes clear communication, teamwork, and ensuring patient comfort in a fast-paced hospital setting. EPIC EHR training is preferred and staff benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Must have nursing aide training or equivalent certification (STNA/CNA) or nursing program with clinical nursing course.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-changing healthcare setting and follow RN guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital sign checks, and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Deliver high-quality patient service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EHR.
• Participate in hand-offs and information transfer at shift changes.
• Perform delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Assist with patient mobilization using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourage patient independence and engage in activities aligned with patient preferences.
