Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides in California to help seniors stay at home with flexible hours between 10 and 40 per week. No experience required; paid training and registration assistance provided.

You will follow care plans, assist with daily living activities, provide companionship, and drive to appointments. Must be 18+, CA Home Care Aide Registry registered, pass background checks, TB test, and have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent if under 18.
• Current registration with the California Home Care Aide Registry.
• Criminal background check completed and disclosed if any history.
• Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training per CA rules.
• TB testing and confirmation of no active TB.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision and empathetic to patients.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client's care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with ADLs within scope of practice for a Health Care Aide.
• Help with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assist transfers, ambulation, and positioning; support mobility.
• Support prescribed exercises taught by health professionals.
• Plan and prepare meals; assist with eating and special diets.
• Assist with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Perform household duties including light housekeeping and transportation.
• Remind about medications and report changes to supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of services and hours worked.
• Drive to appointments or errands; stay alert to client needs.
• Attend required training and keep home care aide registration active.
