Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide nonmedical in-home support to seniors in California. Flexible hours range from 10 to 40 hours per week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights. No prior experience required, with paid training and CA Home Care Aide Registry support.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, adherence to care plans, and reliable transportation to client homes. Compliance with background checks and training is required to begin work.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current CA Home Care Aide Registry registration.
• Criminal background check clearance.
• Plan to complete paid training prior to client care.
• Tuberculosis testing cleared.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Execute clients' care plans as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with ADLs within the scope of practice for a Health Care Aide.
• Support personal hygiene tasks including bathing and dressing.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, and positioning.
• Assist with prescribed exercises taught by health professionals.
• Plan and prepare meals, including therapeutic diets, and assist with eating.
• Assist with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Perform housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and companionship tasks.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Report changes in client condition to supervisor.
• Complete service records accurately.
• Travel to appointments or errands.
• Record all hours worked.
• Remain attentive for client needs and respond promptly.
• Attend required training sessions and maintain registration.
