Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides in California to support seniors in their homes with nonmedical services. This role offers flexible shifts from morning to overnight, with opportunities for part-time or full-time hours and paid training.

Qualifications include 18+, CA Home Care Aide Registry registration, background check, TB testing, and reliable transportation. You will follow care plans, assist with ADLs, meals, hygiene, and provide companionship in a home-care setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have valid communication skills.
• Current registration with the California Home Care Aide Registry.
• Criminal background check completed or in process.
• Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training.
• Evidence of tuberculosis testing and no active TB.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Self-direction with minimal supervision.
• Empathy for the needs of the ill; tact and good personal hygiene.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with ADLs including hygiene, dressing and transfer.
• Support meal planning and basic nutrition, including special diets.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed.
• Record services accurately and report changes to the supervisor.
• Provide transportation to appointments or errands as required.
• Perform light household tasks and companionship as needed.
• Remind clients about medications as directed.
