Job summary

SCI Orlando is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations and assist families with information on services and arrangements.

Responsibilities include greeting client families, preparing service documents, assisting with remains, coordinating with staff, driving vehicles as needed, and helping on visitations and ceremonies with compassion and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases; ability and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services: floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, keepsakes and mementos; stores items properly.
• Prepares service documents for arrangements, cremations, maintenance as directed.
• Assists with preparation of remains, dressing, lifting, or crematory operations as allowed by law and regulations.
• Performs office duties: answering phones, fax, computer, multi-line phone system, debit card machine, typewriter, postage meter, scale, and audio-visual equipment.
• Runs errands for supplies, floral delivery, documents, etc.
• Serves as usher and may park cars or handle transportation needs.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assists with visitations, memorials and funeral services, including setup and arrangements.
• Greets clients and provides information at the office; supports families during services or visitations.
