South Shore Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care across nursing units, ensuring safe transport and accurate documentation. The role emphasizes observation, communication with RNs, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities include maintaining BLS knowledge, acting as a preceptor for new staff, and contributing to a culture of safety and patient-centered care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Formación

• BLS certification required for patient care.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge recommended.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.
• Accurate documentation and reporting of patient information.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of licensed staff.
• Assist in safe patient transport and handling.
• Assist in maintaining a safe unit environment and documentation of services.
• Utilize department software and operate in downtime per unit standards.
• Follow applicable policies, procedures and privacy requirements.
• Engage with patients and families to support care planning and satisfaction.
• Demonstrate awareness of diverse patient populations and culturally sensitive care.
