Job summary

Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital in Utah is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician to support the care team, perform basic patient care tasks, and potentially handle health unit coordinator duties.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated basic computer literacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and deliver basic patient care, including toileting, bathing, linen and clothing changes, fresh water and ice, ambulating and comfort measures.
• Reports and records patient care findings and data in a timely manner.
• May perform telemetry duties as required and function as a patient care attendant by monitoring patients.
• Transport medications from the delivery system to the RN as required.
• Collaborate with the RN and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• May assume responsibilities of a health unit coordinator, including answering phones, transcribing orders, managing unit records and stocking supplies.
• Implements plan of care as delegated.
• Perform duties within Scope of Practice and ensure regulatory standards.
• Maintain a safe environment by following safety policies and emergency procedures.
