UC San Diego CAPS, part of the Student Health & Well-Being cluster, seeks a Clinical Administrative Assistant to serve as first contact, handling scheduling, referrals, and patient inquiries across CAPS and satellite locations.

You will support clinicians and managers, maintain HIPAA-compliant records, assist during mental health crises, and help ensure smooth clinic workflows while delivering compassionate, patient-centered service.

Qualificações

• Minimum 3 years of front office experience in a mental health outpatient setting.
• Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) for patient registration and scheduling.
• Ability to assist patients in emotional distress and crisis with compassion.
• Experience with HIPAA, FERPA, and patient confidentiality.
• Strong written and verbal communication and multitasking in a high-volume clinic.
• Ability to work independently and handle evolving situations including crises.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients, provide front office support and customer service.
• Schedule appointments across CAPS and satellite locations.
• Process visits, registrations, and insurance eligibility checks.
• Assist with crisis screening and de-escalation as needed.
• Maintain patient records and confidentiality in Epic.
