Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Community Technician for Sunday–Thursday 7am–3:30pm. This full-time, frontline position supports residents, crisis moments, and safety in a 24/7 program with mandatory overtime.

You’ll apply trauma‑informed care, respond to conflicts, document incidents, and help with meals and upkeep. Training and certifications are provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma‑informed and de‑escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
