Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) is seeking Community Support Specialists to engage individuals in work, recreation, and activities that promote independence in their community. You’ll act as coach and advocate, helping people achieve a preferred lifestyle.

This role includes on-site, long-term job support, daily community travel, mileage reimbursement, and opportunities for growth through our Management Training Program. Hours are daytime, Monday–Friday; part-time 20–30 hours.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday–Friday, daytime business hours (minimum 20-30 hours for part time)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device

Responsibilities

• Provide long-term, on-site, job support for the duration of an individual’s employment
• Serve as their coach and advocate to foster success in the workplace
• Support their participation in volunteer and/or other recreational activities to help develop self-advocacy, independent living and communication skills
• Engage in daily community-based travel, providing transportation as you actively accompany individuals to work, volunteer and community sites to build their path to independence. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Community Support Specialists (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist)

A typical day might include the following:

• Provide long-term, on-site, job support for the duration of an individual’s employment

Pay: $19-$21 per hour
