Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Alaska seeks a Community Health Aide/Practitioner to deliver primary, acute, chronic and preventive care at village clinics. The role requires village residency or relocation, English communication, and ability to travel for training.

You may participate in itinerant coverage across villages and support preventive health programs, with full-time hours and competitive benefits. Training and certification support are provided by YKHC.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with high school diploma or GED; TABE reading, writing and math at 8th grade level.
• Must be nominated by Traditional or IRA Council of the village where service will be provided.
• Must attend Health Aide Sessions I-IV to become certified CHP; must be ETT or EMT; re-entry guidelines apply.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and email; proficient with RPMS and Telehealth within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and present information; strong basic math and language skills.
• Possible Lead Health Aide responsibilities if assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary, acute, chronic and preventive health care and emergency care at village clinics.
• Participate in preventative and chronic care activities per training level.
• May relocate, travel to Bethel or training sites for trainings.
• May serve as float/ itinerant CHA/P across YKHC villages as assigned.
