Job summary

Sun Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities. You will repair homes and facilities, maintain grounds, operate equipment, and ensure a clean, welcoming environment for residents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• 6 months maintenance experience in apartment or manufactured housing industry (Preferred).
• 6 months snow removal experience (Preferred).
• 6 months general maintenance knowledge and repair work (Preferred).
• Ability to endure outdoor work in varying temperatures.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Basic computer proficiency (email/internet).
• Willingness to work on-call schedule.
• Proficient use of hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on homes and facilities.
• Keep common areas, streets, and grounds clean and safe.
• Inspect irrigation/water systems and perform repairs as needed.
• Maintain vacant sites and remove trash.
• Winter snow removal when applicable.
• Maintain lawns and landscape; perform basic care tasks.
• Test and monitor water systems and meters.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager.
• Assist supervision of service contractors as needed.
• Ensure property adheres to curb appeal standards.
